Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, John Ford took his first painting class in 2004 at the Cincinnati Art Academy. Upon graduation from the Ohio State University in 2005, Ford found himself teaching math as part of the new York City Fellows. For the next two years he frequented the many art museums, painted intermittently, and taught. Ford found inspiration in the works of Lucian Freud, Alice Neel, and Gustave Courbet, and in 2007, after taking several classes at the Art Students League of New York, he redirected his life to painting. Ford recently had his first showing of work at Angry Wade's in Brooklyn during September, 2008. He is currently continuing his studies at the League with Robert Cenedello.
